"The greatest spiritual crisis we face today is the crisis of violence in all of its manifestations. Jesus, Francis and Clare, Gandhi, Dorothy Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others have declared with their lives an alternative to this treadmill of violence. It is a joy to be teaching at the Franciscan School of Theology, an institution which has exhibited a profound commitment to this central Gospel value of peacemaking."
Ken's focus is the liberating power of Gospel nonviolence as a creative and challenging way to address the violence in our lives and in the life of the world. . With Louis Vitale, Ken teaches a course on the spirituality and practice of active nonviolence. In addition to his teaching, Ken is on the staff of Pace e Bene Franciscan Nonviolence center. He co-directs the center's program in nonviolence education used across the United States by local churches, campus ministries and religious organizations.
