Wisdom Literature and the Franciscan Vision
This lecture will discuss common themes in the wisdom literature of the Bible and the Franciscan vision. Wisdom literature in the Bible speaks to practical matters of everyday living and conveys that one’s relationship with God informs one’s daily interactions with the world. This presentation will note numerous points of contact between the Franciscan vision and themes reflected in wisdom literature, such as an emphasis on humility and care for the created world.
