Ministry Days – Serving at a Primary or Secondary School

Thursday, February 6, 2025
4:15-5:15 PM
Coronado Hall – Classroom 132B
Sponsored by the Franciscan School of Theology

If you are interested in being a teacher or campus minister in a primary or secondary school or currently in discernment about how you would like to serve after completing your degree, this informative event is for you.

Private primary and secondary schools are often in the market to hire theology teachers and campus ministers. Teaching about faith and mission, facilitating retreats or service projects or organizing liturgical celebrations are just part of the responsibilities involved with full and part-time positions at these institutions of education.

A panel of four presenters will be speaking about how to become a teacher or campus minister, how to go about looking for these positions, and what it is like to serve in one of these important roles. Our panelists will include:

  • Leticia Oseguera, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of San Diego.
  • Doug Evans, Principal of Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, California and FST alum.
  • Jodi Drake, Principal of Nativity Prep Academy in San Diego, California.
  • Laurie Mikolaycik, FST Alumnus and Theology teacher at Mater Dei Catholic High School in Chula Vista, California.

This will be a hybrid event that will be recorded for viewing on request.
