Zoom Lecture 10/29/2020: The Psalms as Antidote to Indifference and Discouragement

Since Francis is often portrayed as preaching to animals and remembered for his Canticle of Creation, it may come as a surprise that there is such a large focus on the psalms in his writings. Yet, we would do well to see how frequently Christ turns to the psalms. Francis follows his example. The psalms impart confidence in God to the person praying them. We are invited to follow Christ and Francis’s example in understanding these reservoirs of hope better.
