Summer Franciscan Zoom Lectures: July 2 DR. THOMAS NAIRN, OFM

Pope Francis’ Integral Ecology and the Consistent Ethic of Life: Calls for a Wider Moral Vision

As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Encyclical, Laudato Sí, this talk will compare some contours of the encyclical with the Consistent Ethic of Life espoused by the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin. Rather than discussing the content of both programs, I will discuss three commitments demonstrated by both churchmen: (1) respect for the other, (2) appreciation of complexity, and (3) awareness of the action of the Holy Spirit, and show how these commitments lead both to a “wider moral Catholic vision.” See flier of details here.

Register here by July 1st.  You will be sent a Zoom link 2 hours in advance of the lecture.
